What We Offer

We offer an initial personal contact to identify potential clients and inform the elderly of existing services.

Information and Assistance

This entails providing current information to clients about services and resources available in the community, including the name, address, phone number, and contact person for the organization.

Congregate Meals

We distribute nutritious and balanced meals in a group setting five days a week to both senior centers. (A minimum of one-third of the RDA is met.)

This includes activities such as supervised exercise classes, trips, crafts, and games. We also have speakers on various health subjects, home safety, legal issues, social security, and more.

Medicaid Enrollment

We help file applications for seniors.

Utility Assistance

Our company helps with the payment of utility bills up to three times a year.

Material Aid

Health aides such as wheelchairs, walkers, etc. are loaned out. Our organization also provides or coordinates in the distribution of fans, blankets, smoke detectors, and more as needed.

Med Alert

We provide emergency response systems to the elderly.

This includes health screenings and exercises designed to support and/or improve the mental and physical well-being of seniors.

Home-Delivered Meals

Five balanced meals are delivered to eligible homebound seniors.

We provide transportation services for the elderly and disabled to senior centers, congregate meal sites, medical appointments, grocery stores, and other social agencies within Ascension Parish.

This is done by contacting individuals through phone on a reoccurring basis to provide support, comfort, and determine physical status.

We offer light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation to homebound senior citizens.

Personal Care Attendant

We provide services for family caregivers of persons who are 60 and over and older individuals caring for persons with developmental disabilities.

Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP)

This involves an objective, confidential counseling to seniors with problems or questions about Medicare, Medicaid, and long-term care insurance.
